Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Light Vehicle

Level 2

This new apprenticeship standard has been designed by employers, it can lead successful apprentices into a variety of motor vehicle maintenance careers and progression into professional qualifications.

OVERVIEW

If you’re considering expanding or developing your garage staff, an intermediate apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance offers an assured route to a qualified and reliable workforce. A suitable pathway for a trainee motor vehicle mechanic or trainee motor vehicle technician.

LEVEL AND DURATION

This apprenticeship is taught at Level 2, over 18 months.

There will be a blended learning approach to the training provided during this programme.

  • Carry out routine vehicle maintenance

  • Remove and replace engine units and components

  • Remove and replace electrical auxiliary units and components

  • Contribute to good housekeeping

  • Remove and replace vehicle chassis units and components
