Apprenticeships – NHS Leadership Academy Programmes

Background 

Health and social care need high quality leaders at every level and in every role to ensure that high quality compassionate care is delivered to the people they serve. 

 

The NHS Leadership Academy has developed leadership programmes aimed at first time, middle and senior leaders which have been purposefully designed to be self-directed, flexible, grounded in reality and applied in the workplace so align perfectly to apprenticeships. 

 

The NHS Leadership Academy are working with education providers to provide access to their leadership development programmes as part of apprenticeships, in line with the People Plan. The aim is to help widen access to leadership development whilst further enabling the health and social care sector to fully utilise the levy and apprenticeships for recruitment and development. 

Launched Apprenticeships 

Level 7 – Senior People Professional Apprenticeship (with Mary Seacole option) 

This two-three year accelerated qualification is ideal for health and care professionals whose role involves driving improvements Human Resources and managing key delivery challenges. It will develop managers capable of maximising their potential and rapidly improving care outcomes. 

 

Awards on completion: CIPD Level 7 Diploma  , NHS Leadership Academy Award Mary Seacole, Chartered membership of the CIPD.

Knowledge – Employee lifecycle, organisation culture, business acumen, measuring value and impact, technology, change methodology, strategic workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, building coaching and mentoring capability, project management, worker voice

  1. Online live workshops to study the core elements of the apprenticeship standard and the CIPD Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management/Learning and Development

  2. Digital learning on our virtual learning environment -  Smart Assessor

  3. Coaching and assessment sessions with your dedicated Learning coach who will be Level 7 qualified

  4. Specialist guest speakers from industry currently working in strategic HR roles

– Strategic employment relations (7HR01)

– Advanced employment law in practice (7OS01))

 

Level 7 – System Thinking Practitioner (with Mary Seacole option)

Awards on completion: SCIO Level 7 Diploma  , NHS Leadership Academy Award Mary Seacole

Systems Thinking Practitioners have the approaches to deal with strategic and leadership issues and to understand and address complex and ‘wicked’ problems through the provision of expert systemic analysis, advice and facilitation

  1. Mixture of face to face and online working to study the core elements of the apprenticeship standard and the Diploma in Systems thinking practitioner

  2. Digital learning on our virtual learning environment -  Smart Assessor

  3. Coaching and assessment sessions with your dedicated learning coach

  4. Three day workshops every 6 weeks and expert coaching in a learning set
