Since embarking on this course, I have developed both personally and professionally in many ways. My confidence has grown in my role and I am more comfortable leading on HR projects and advising on HR issues. I have learned how to write business reports which has enabled me to influence leaders within my current organisation and implement positive change across the business. I have developed my resilience and ability to adopt to and cope with change.
I never thought I would go back into learning after finishing my A Levels at College and was apprehensive about starting this course with such little on-the-job experience. I absolutely believe it was the right decision and I would 100% be interested in further developing myself through an apprenticeship with Together Training again.
Whilst I was exposed to various elements of HR in my role, this course has given me the confidence to be proactive, take accountability and successfully deliver HR KPIs and strategic objectives. The modules on this course have increased my awareness of various HR and Business tools and techniques, which I have been able to use to demonstrate my value as a people professional. I now understand the importance of data and stakeholder management and am able to communicate effectively with senior leaders throughout the business.
Using a reflective log throughout the project has helped me to reflect and understand myself better. Specifically, I have been able to identify areas of strength and weakness and also understand how I would like to progress in the world of HR. Furthermore, I have successfully secured a new job which is a promotion and is in the higher education sector. I am excited to apply my HR knowledge and skills gained from this course. I feel like the apprenticeship directly helped with my career progression as the experience gained from this course provides many examples to use during interviews and job applications.
The support provided to me from my tutor was above and beyond what I expected and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her. In the end, I got a strong pass for the project which demonstrates my application of learning in my workplace and a distinction for the professional discussion
